- Your BMI is 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition
- Diets have worked for a while, then stopped
- You have prediabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol
- You want to know if medication is a safe option for you

Common questions
Does insurance cover weight management visits?
Many plans cover visits for weight-related conditions. Coverage for weight-loss medication varies widely, so call your office and we'll check your plan.
Will I be prescribed medication?
Only if your doctor thinks it's safe and likely to help. Many patients start with nutrition and activity changes alone.
How often are follow-ups?
Your doctor sets the schedule. Check-ins are more frequent at the start, and many can be done by telehealth.
What should I bring to my first visit?
A list of your medicines and supplements, any recent lab results, and your goals. A food log from a few typical days helps too.
